YAYYY!

I knew For Today was my favorite band for a reason. I also knew that God made it Nathan's favorite band for a certain purpose also!
:]

sooooo, Mattie, the lead singer from For Today is creating a new album with his wife. It's like an evangelistic album I guess you would call it? It's him speaking about God and to help encourage those who don't believe in God and yeh, it's hard to explain but here's the link to it!

I've already pre-ordered the cd! and i'm super excited about getting it and to hear what God has to say through Mattie! :D

For Today is also working on a new album.. i think? but if they are, I'M SUPPPPPPPER EXTRA excited about that! :D

go check out the site and read his blogs, also if you feel the need... donate to help support the new album! :]

Austin

So this past Wednesday, the 27th... Nathan and I drove down to Austin to see our favorite band For Today. If you've never listened to them, you should! You might not like the style of the music, but that's not what it's about. It's about the lyrics. The band is on a tour called "Never Say Die" They are the only christian band on the tour. I can't imagine how they must feel hanging out with the other bands, or hearing hurtful things from the fans of the other bands. While Nathan and I were standing in the line to get in, a couple of boys behind us were mocking For Today. They kept saying stuff like "Oh I'm a christian band. Go Jesus!" but in a very sarcastic tone. It took a lot for me to not turn around and tell them to shut up, but somehow I kept my cool and just stood there patiently taking it all in. I didn't feel the need to turn around and stand up for the band because I felt like during the show, Mattie, the lead singer would have said it all for me.. in better words too. They were the third band to play and while the other bands before them played I just stood there. Didn't really get into any of the bands until For Today came on. haha Sooo between one band leaving the stage and For Today setting up their equip on stage, there was a group of kids standing next to Nathan and I smoking a blunt. It was really discouraging, so I prayed. I prayed that they would realized their hurting themselves by doing that, their hurting others who loves them for doing that. I prayed that the lyrics and the truth of God would reach all the kids in that place and stir up their hearts to want to know God more and to strive for better lives. I prayed that they wouldn't just hear the music but to hear the lyrics, to apply it to their life and live their life for God. For Today came on and I was soooooo pumped! I was really getting into this show too! Most of the time I just stand up front right against the stage to just watch, but not this time. Nathan stood behind me to protect me from people that got too out of hand with their moshing. Before the first song came on I prayed for strength. Strength to get through the night of moshing :P It may seem weird to pray for and I realized that as I was praying but then I got to thinking... being at this show, singing those lyrics, moshing... it's all for God. In a sense, I was worshiping God. Everyone in that room was worshiping him, lifting his name up... screaming at the top of their lungs "there is life at the throne of God." They might not know what theyre doing but I know that everyone in that room was there for a reason. God is working in all of their lives and their hearts. God placed them there to hear those words, to worship him, to mosh for God! :D The best part of the show was the part of one song called Ezekiel...which just so happens to be my favorite song everrrr, but at the end of the song it says "Holy Spirit fall on us and breath your life into us" at this point in the song Mattie stopped singing and just to hear these lyrics from the whole room overwhelmed me. Almost everyones hands were raised singing this. It brought tears to my eyes. God works in mysterious ways! I love it! :] In between the like third or fourth song maybee, Mattie said a few words... it was really encouraging to hear too. He was just saying that he knows the truth and he wish everyone in the room could know it too, and to feel God like the way he has felt God. I forgot what else he said but after I said amen and prayed that everyone in the room heard what he said. Not just heard it but reallllllly heard it. You know? Anyways.. after all the moshing and yelling at the top of my lungs the lyrics I had a tummy cramp so Nathan and I left. The next day we left to come home and about an hour or so into the ride home Nathan randomly said "You know when Mattie was talking between the songs? My favorite part was at the very end when he said "This is what His army looks like" I personally I guessed missed that part, but Nathan heard it and to hear it from him was just like a big eye opener I guess you could say... We are in God's army. We fight for him. Gahh I love that! :] Anyways idk what else to say, but here's the link to For Today's myspace if you wanna check them out... http://www.myspace.com/fortoday

I just realized that my blog is just a huge paragraph. hahah sorry :P

instead of a bible verse I'm just gonna put some lyrics from For Today :]
"There will never be another name that can save us from ourselves. And so, steadfast and undeterred, I will proclaim the name of Christ to a dead and dying world."

"You are all I have. I stand before you redeemed. You are all I have. I could never want more than this."

"Then you will know there is one God and the LORD is His name... You will be judged, but His people will be restored. Fall to your knees, for there is life at the throne of God."

"An army approaches! Arise! Arise! Arise! Prepare! Prepare! Prepare! This is the Word from the mouth of God.And in it’s power you will find life. "

just some of the many lyrics that are amazing words from God. :D

Hmm..

So I'm new to the whole blogging thing, other than using xanga back in the day... but i kinda feel like that wasn't even blogging. It was just me describing my day. I want something more than that. I want something where I can express myself and say what I want to say. I'm one of those people that likes to talk about whats on my mind, but I don't want to hear how you can fix it or what I need to change about myself. I just want to be heard. It's hard these days to just be heard. Someone always seems to find something wrong with you that you need to change or make better about yourself.

So enough ranting about that. Let's get this thing started.

I've been having trouble lately doing what I know is right, but doing what is wrong. Does that make sense? Instead of doing what I know is right, I want to do what is wrong. Not nescesarly acting out on what is wrong, but at most having thought about wanting to do what I know is wrong. This may seem confsuing because I quite frankly am confusing myself. Anyways, long story short... I thought it would be fun to be one of those people who got drunk and wasted on New Year's Eve. Now, I have NEVER been the type of person to want to even drink or even come remotely close to drinking. Recently, I really feel like the enemy is messing with my mind. And I know for a fact that's happening, because I have not been in the word, I have not prayed, I haven't even been to church in a while. It amazes me how much it really effects you and your relationship with God when you slack off in the most important thing. It also amazes me the measure that God takes to get you back into what you know you need to do to be confident in your relationship with Him, and with your actions. God really throws a hard one at me when I drift from him. I'm thankful He does, because He could just be like "well, i lost another child. such a shame what the enemy can do." but no, God isn't like that! Not at all! He draws me back to him in anyway that He can! He doesn't want to loose me because I am His, and He is mine. He has been working in me, and if I drift away from Him... all that work will be for what? Nothing. He has recently, actually as of tonight.. to trust in Him, which I should know that anyways but it's a big struggle for me, but anyways... to trust in Him because He knows what is best for me and that I need to remember that. I think I know what is best for me, but what it comes down to is I was completely wrong. God knows what He's doing. I'm put in certain situations for a reason. He has a plan. Just gotta remember that.

anyways, I lost track of where I was going with this post. Until next time, God bless!

I decided a bible verse would be an acceptable way to end a post, so here it is.

"I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD." Ezekiel 22: 30 & 31
